As good for the environment as it is for you, this rib-necked sweater is knitted from our new Italian organic merino and alpaca wool in certified environmentally-friendly colours. Beautifully soft and warm, it has a short tapered shape and a high cut-away neck with a double ribbed finish. Sleeves are long and roomy and there's a stitch panel-detail on the centre back.

Fibre
Our organic merino wool fibres are sourced from Uruguay and Argentina and are certified by the Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) from the organic fibre source to the spinning and dyeing of the yarn. GOTS is the leading standard for organic fibres, including ecological and social criteria and is backed by independent third-party certification. We are working on extending the certification to cover the entire textile supply chain. Amongst other strict animal welfare standards, the organic wool is also mulesing-free.
The alpacas are responsibly farmed in the Peruvian highlands. Alpacas' impact is light on the land they graze which makes them one of the most environmentally friendly animals.
Fabric
The organic merino wool and alpaca yarn is dyed and spun in Italy according to GOTS environmental standards. Only strictly regulated dyes are used which are free of harmful chemicals for both humans and the environment. The fibres are 'top' dyed before being spun into yarn. This process results in beautiful melange colours and a softer hand feel. Each panel is knitted to the shape of the garment which therefore creates less wastage. Panels and trims are attached using a hand-linking machine, resulting in a premium, high-quality garment.
Factory
The knits are produced in close collaboration with one of our longest standing suppliers, a small knitter based in Dongguan, China. We have enjoyed working with owner Robert and his dedicated team, Ceci and Carmen, for over 20 years. Their knowledge, experience and attention to detail is second to none. We are proud to have them as part of our team.
